It is easier for non-smokers to say why do people smoke? and that they should stop. it is an addiction which grows and is difficult to stop whether you have been smoking for days or years.

To fulfill their addiction people don't really care on how much they pay or even if they are damaging their health. I am a non-smoker but like everything else it is the choice of every individual what they do, however i think you are right about NHS health care, but with the economy's downfall it does seem as this could be the government's next move on damaging health by smoking as women are at higher risk of lung cancer than men.
