All over the news and media we hear about men who sexually abuse children but according to research women are paedophiles as well but it is rarely discussed. I came across an article where a mother sexually abused her son until he was 13. twenty years later he has been affected by violence and drugs because of what he experienced as a child. he mainly took drugs so he could get away from the abuse he experienced and as soon as it got dark he would take drugs to feel safe.
This makes you think, even that you know you are being sexually abused by your mother and you know drug taking is wrong as well as dangerous, do you have any other option to feel safe? it is easier said then done to seek help but if you're tortured everyday then you can only rely on drugs or alcohol to forget what you go through.
