In April 2008 the whole world was shocked when we heard about Josef Fritzl who locked up his own daughter for 24 years when she was 18 years old. Not only is that bad enough he had seven children with her. This secret was discovered after one child became seriously ill and was rushed to hospital.
A few days ago Fritzl admitted to ‘partial’ rape of his daughter who he had locked up in his man made dungeon. This is an on going case which has shocked the whole world. The charges which apply to him are rape, incest, murder and enslavement. He has now pleaded guilty to all his charges. Over 24 years Fritzl has blatantly lied to his wife in the 24 year gap when she questioned him on the whereabouts of their daughhter. He continuously lied to her with different excuses.
In week 1 of the lecture we briefly touched upon the subject of incest. It is completely wrong. I mean how can a father rape his daughter since the age of 18 and keep her locked up and wasting away for 24 years? Not only that he has 8 children but one of them died, leaving 7 of them alive. The four charges Fritzl has been charged for should result in drastic action. This should convey a message to others that this type of immoral behaviour is unacceptable and should be sentenced with a severe punishment. In this case 'sorry' isn't just good enough.
